Get More Traffic to Your Blog Post

My clients often ask me, “I wrote a blog post, now what?” Or “why should I write it, no one will read it!” It can often feel like you are creating inside a black hole, pouring your heart into each blog post… for what? No one is reading the posts and they are not generating clients. Yikes!

I feel your frustration – you may have spent hours researching, writing and editing to create a great post. And then… crickets. So how do you get more traffic to your blog post?

The first secret to blogging success is to make sure you are writing about topics that are valuable and relevant to your ideal readers. Stand in your ideal reader’s shoes and ask them what they need your help with. Write about that!

The second secret to blogging success requires a shift in your mindset. Blogging is NOT the field of dreams. In fact, it’s more like the black hole than you might think.

You cannot just write a post, no matter how freaking brilliant it is, and just expect people to organically stumble across it. Alas… no Kevin Costner in this movie.

So what’s a blogger to do?

The third secret to blogging success is to tell everyone you wrote the post – and I mean everyone. And you have to tell them more than once. In fact, you have to shout it out with a megaphone. No more hiding inside that black hole.

Content marketing is the queen of your online marketing strategy. And as with any queen, she requires admiration, a gorgeous crown and maybe even a magic mirror.

You must hold court and invite people to attend you on your throne. No more black holes.
